Plan whole-home audio room by room before choosing a package

The former NorthTech page offered three fixed Control4 and Triad packages under a Sonos address. This replacement keeps the useful planning questions but does not repeat the old prices or equipment lists until NorthTech confirms they are current.

Plan around the property

What changes the right multi-room audio system

The rooms and listening priorities

Background music in a kitchen, television sound in a living room and focused listening in a dedicated space need different speakers, amplification and control.

Wired and wireless equipment

A wired system can centralise equipment and speakers, while Sonos may suit an existing room or phased retrofit. The property and desired experience decide the mix.

Independent zones

Each zone needs an agreed source, volume control and relationship to nearby rooms. More zones also change amplifier, rack, cable and control requirements.

Control and television sound

Control4, a music app, wall controls and television sources can be coordinated only where the selected equipment and licensed services support them.

Design the experience before fixing the equipment list

The best first brief says where audio should play, how each room is used and which sources matter. Current products and pricing can then be selected against that requirement.

  1. Step 1

    Map the zones

List indoor and outdoor areas, whether they should play independently and which rooms need television sound as well as music.

  2. Step 2

    Check infrastructure

Identify speaker positions, cable paths, network coverage, equipment space, power and any existing Control4 or Sonos equipment.

  3. Step 3

    Confirm the current design

NorthTech confirms the available speakers, amplifiers, controllers, streaming services, installation work and current Quote.

What must be confirmed before work is promised

  • The old $2,490, $4,990 and $7,990 packages are not presented as current prices or current equipment lists.
  • Streaming services, high-resolution formats and music availability depend on the chosen service, account, region and compatible hardware.
  • Wireless equipment still depends on power and a suitable property network; wired equipment still needs planned cable paths and installation access.
  • Control4, Triad, Episode and Sonos choices are confirmed for the actual rooms and existing system rather than treated as interchangeable packages.

Common questions

Is Sonos the same as a wired multi-room system?
No. Sonos can be part of a practical retrofit or existing setup, while a wired design may centralise amplification and installed speakers. Either can suit different rooms; the choice depends on the property and the desired control.
Can the television play through the ceiling speakers?
Often, with the right television connection, amplification and control path. Latency, source switching and everyday operation should be checked for the proposed equipment.
Can every room play something different?
A properly designed multi-zone system can support independent sources and volume in compatible zones. The number of simultaneous sources and zones depends on the selected equipment and services.
Should audio be planned before plaster?
Yes where practical. Speaker positions, cable paths, power, network and equipment space are easier to coordinate before walls and ceilings close, although existing homes can still have useful retrofit options.

Tell us where the music should live

List the rooms, outdoor areas and television sources that matter. NorthTech can then develop a current equipment and installation plan instead of reviving an old package unchanged.
