For music around the home, yes — a well-chosen ceiling speaker spreads sound more evenly than a box on a shelf. For a dedicated cinema we add wall speakers and a subwoofer as well.

Can I have ceiling speakers put in an existing home?

Usually, yes. Where there is roof space above we can run cable without opening walls. A two-storey home can be trickier downstairs; we’ll tell you honestly after a look.

Can I play different music in different rooms?

Yes. Each room, or group of rooms, is its own zone with its own volume. Play the same song everywhere, or something different in each.

How do I control the music?

From your phone, a keypad on the wall, a Control4 remote or touchscreen, or your voice. Spotify, Apple Music and AirPlay all work.

Can speakers go outside?

Yes. We install weather-rated speakers under eaves and around the garden, with a subwoofer buried in the garden bed. We aim them so the music stays with you, not the neighbours.

When should I plan audio in a new build?

At the drawing stage, and before the pre-wire at the latest. Cable goes in before the plaster, and speaker positions are best set with the lighting plan.

Do you install audio across Melbourne’s north?
